Discernment Counseling is a short term (typically 1-5 sessions) counseling process to assist couples in identifying a path for their future. It is NOT marriage counseling, but could lead to a couple deciding to participate in marriage counseling.
Path one – Status quo—the relationship as it has been
Path two – Separation/divorce
Path three – A commitment to couples therapy (and sometimes other resources) and working hard to repair and rebuild the relationship
Our Clinicians are seasoned at supporting individuals in a couple relationship at understanding their choices, their contribution to the status of the relationship, and a vision for a path out of being stuck.
With our expertise in Family Systems and Relationship Therapy, our providers are able to assist couples with managing any of these paths or provide referrals to other therapists/resources for these services when a couple has decided on a path.
