Michael has been in private practice since 1997. He specializes in helping individuals and families out of stressful and challenging dynamics, such as divorce, trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety and significant medical conditions. Michael has an MSW (Masters of Social Work) and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). He is trained in family systems therapy, chemical dependency and child and adolescent therapy, with an undergraduate degree in psychology. Michael has been working with couples, families and children his entire career. Michael enjoys running, adventures, and spending time with his wife and family.

Mathew has a background in youth and family ministry and is also a trainer and associate with Peer Ministry Leadership training faith communities all over the nation in "Good Samaritan Leadership".

Mathew is passionate about relationships and has a desire to help couples redesign their relationship so it suits both partners, improve communication and understanding for parents and children, and support parents in reasserting their parental authority when feeling as though they have lost control of their family.

Alexis is an ambitious grad-student pursuing her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Bethel Seminary. She is thrilled to be providing client-care in the evenings and supervised parenting when needed. After working as a paraprofessional following the completion of her undergraduate degree, Alexis gained a passion for working with children and a desire to look deeper within a family's system to uncover relational dynamics, and search for the "why" behind behaviors. Looking through a system lens, Alexis sees the problem as a symptom rather than a pathology. She is looking forward to learning and growing into her positions. Alexis is delighted to be able to bring knowledge from her studies into her roles here at Traverse.

In her future practice, Alexis aspires to specialize in behavioral intervention, childhood trauma, and ambiguous loss. She also has an interest in working with individuals in hospice and providing support to family members.

She divides her time between managing our front office, client care, and providing information and resources about our services to the professional community.

Raven joined Traverse Counseling in 2021 as a Supervised Parenting Provider. Additionally, she serves as a Community Relations Coordinator for Prairie Care. Raven previously was employed as a Social Worker for the University of Minnesota Medical Center working with adults facing complex medical, chemical health, mental health, and family crisis intervention needs. She also served as a Behavioral Health Home Care Coordinator for one of the Fairview Clinics.

Through Raven's experience in direct Social Work practice, she has developed a passion for working with families as they go through difficult experiences. Raven believes that every family has different challenges that arise throughout their lives and that when families have the courage to seek help can become stronger. Raven enjoys being able to represent an organization that helps families find the support that they need to overcome barriers and find new ways of living. In her free time, Raven enjoys playing softball, traveling, being active, spending time with her family.
